Predictive Research into Speciality Materials

PRiSM is Lava Blue's permanent R&D and demonstration facility in Redlands, south-east Brisbane. It produces high-purity material samples, validates processing systems under industrial conditions, and supports licensees from feedstock testing through to engineering design inputs.

The Bridge Between Research and Production

Lava Blues Centre for Predictive Materials into Specialty Materials (PRiSM) is producing high-purity samples for market testing and conducting detailed engineering for full-scale production facilities. The goal: shorten the path from feedstock validation to commercial deployment while reducing the technical and financial risks of scaling up.

Feedstock Testing

Characterising mineral feedstocks to determine processing viability and optimal process conditions.

Smarter Processing

Investing in the use of machine learning for critical mineral research, modelling and processing.

Solving Complex Problems

Built to investigate and demonstrate scaling up of processing steps for high purity materials.

Clean Energy

Solar and Battery Powered

PRiSM is powered by 200kW of on-site solar and a 1.45MW containerised battery system making it the first integrated solar-and-battery-powered light industrial facilities in Australia. This is sustainability in action, emissions free power for manufacturing of battery grade materials.
